Top tips for fireworks
Act normally even though your pet is frightened. Trying to comfort them will only make it seem that there is indeed something to be afraid of. Never punish fearful behaviour, just ignore it. Ensure the area where your dog normally rests is a safe zone. Provide toys, chews and as many pleasant distractions as possible. Close the curtains and play loud music to mask the noise. Keep doors closed at all times and the area where your pet is housed secure. Microchip your pet in case escapes do occur. Walk your pet outside of peak firework time.
